I’ve been doing a lot of creating recently..it’s tedious but it feels great! Composing melodies, writing lyrics, arranging music, making a doll… If only I have the kitchen all to myself, I’ll love to tamper with cookies/tiramisu/pies/anything with a simple recipe.

Creating is really one of the best things I love about life. Isn’t it wonderful how you can put your thoughts into the real world? Make them come alive and see the light of the world.  It’s like, one type of contribution to the world; nevermind if you’re the only person who appreciates it. It doesn’t have to do with music. It can be anything. Jokes, ideas, painting, food, cake, photos etc. There are times when I just want to receive passively like an antenna and watch good movies and listen to music. I don’t know, but May is the month of action!

Any other things I can create? Hmmmmmm……

I sing most regularly at weddings, and I see couples at their happy moments, if not happiest, in their lives.

Off the stage, I hear horror stories of couples contemplating separation, divorce; some with their spouses facing adultery issues; some have not had sex with their partners for ‘n’ years; some have ‘no (more) feel’ for their spouses blah blah. Many drift further and further away from their partners, and have no idea how to pull each other back.

Heaven and Hell on the chessboard, either one brewed from the same two players. How do you want yours to game?

One of the worst reasons to get married is simply that your partner had happened to like you back (amongst others’) - things developed smoothly from there, the marriage card was flashed because it’s one of those cards that ought to be flashed along the way, and if you don’t marry her, you are probably an a**hole  Honestly, if I were in the girl’s shoes, I would rather you abandon me at the aisle before we swear to be “man and wife for sickness and good health forever”, and strings of words which hold no true value unless actions follow (in this case, over the span of a lifetime).  Words are so cheap these days, they come in all forms; letters, emails, sms, msn messages, whispers, sweet-nothings. It’s the actions that count, idiot.

Almost every expensive item in this modern world now can be sustained using installments. While sustaining a household entails monetary installments, can we sustain marriage by paying our spouses installments of commitment and loyalty, spread out over the span of a lifetime, especially when times are bad?

As someone standing outside this game called marriage, I am certainly in no position to comment too much. I’m not here to be a judge who wields the hammer, but….. how do I trust what lies ahead?

In bad times, I know what Monica would tell me if I ask her this.

C’est trop compliqué. Mais je dois avoir foi.

Erin et moiErin et moi playing a fool

Some people thought that Erin is my daughter whenever we’re together LOL. She is sooooo adorable. But yeah, children are a handful; I admire the father who was trying so hard and patiently to get her to finish dinner. Taking pictures in front of my macbook like this is so much easier… Heh.

Many interesting things happened to me in April…it was like a whirlwind of meeting different, contrasting types of people. Of course being in the ‘entertainment’ industry gets me in touch or in wind of ‘interesting’ people of all sorts, and luckily for me, I prefer to duck my head low and just walk through the forest as long as I get my crumbs picked, or job done so to speak.

But April topped it. I came across people who would do anything to get fame; I came across people who are so rich, getting ’stuff’ is probably a matter of having the time off their work to buy it; not even having a moment to ponder why they’re so blessed with what they have while people on the other corners of the world are starving; or thinking their riches give them the right to rob people of respect. I came across people who are brave and courageous to put down what they achieved using all their lives, to pursue spiritual growth and just be who they really are without fear of judgment from other people.

In this world where everyone of us is so pressurised to conform to a cookie-cut shape and size, to pursue material stuff and more upgrading of material stuff, how many of us actually think about what we want from life? Out of life.

Who dares to put down everything they’ve been told by everyone else through their growing years to start a new mindset and find a road that they really like to follow so as to find true joy in living?

The 3 characteristics I admire the most in any person is

Compassion - you don’t have to drop tears everytime you feel for something, or feel obliged to lend a hand;  I think that the ability to empathise is what makes a human, human.

Loyalty - the tendency to stay true and hold on to what and who you have in spite of certain changes in outcomes which may render you ‘less profitable or less well-off’.

Spiritual growth - I don’t mean taking on a religion here, in fact I don’t have one and don’t think I ever will. I guess growing the spiritual part of oneself will help one feel more compassion for others, confidence in oneself, and give clarity to what is important in your life (nevermind the afterlife, because if you’re so caught up with whether you’re going to heaven or hell, then maybe you are not so genuine with your actions anymore).

You may laugh at me, but bleh. I am that dumb and naive. I’ll rather die stupid and oddball than evil and scheming.

At first I was feeling quite bad for the kids…what kind of adults will do this to innocent young kids?

YouTube Preview Image

Ok, morally I think it’s wrong to do that to the kids. Full of twisted guilt yet very amused now, I have to say I haven’t laughed like that for a long time. I wanna marry that boy! Don’t you!?
